Feb 19 – Mark 3:1-19

Grace and Ella Craddock
A hardened heart is not wanting to learn or become   better, but wanting the easy route without committing to what is right or thinking you know all the answers.

Jesus’s enemies saw an opportunity to try to prove that Jesus was a fake and to make it look like he was doing something wrong. They did not care about the need that the man had, they ignored his suffering and focused on trying to prove that Jesus had been lying this whole time. Jesus gives these men an opportunity to see that their view was so clearly off base. Their silence proved that they cared more about the law, than the man who needed help.

Another time, crowds of people came to Jesus. Many in the crowd were in their own personal crisis. The people in the crowd wanted to be healed physically- when what they really needed was to be healed spiritually. All these people had heard about Jesus and came to Him, which was good, but instead of only looking for healing they should have been   coming to Jesus to learn more about God’s love.

Many times we decide to rush through and get things over with, instead of slowing down and seeing what God is   trying to teach us. Rushing through is faster, but we don’t learn anything and cannot grow closer to God, which is more important.

We pray:

Please God, help me to see other’s needs and to hear Your voice. Help me to listen so that I can hear what You are telling me instead of focusing on my own needs. Amen.
